Early Bird Discount – Why Pay Early?
First let me assure you we are not bringing this festival to Tucson to fill our coffers!
Believe it or not that would be a silly reason since there is no way to make that much money on this type of an event. We are simply bringing to you the joys and wonders of TANGO: a fabulous tradition, culture, music, all the events that make tango the best dance on earth only get better when hundreds get together to do it all at the same time!
You know something of what I am about to say or you wouldn’t be reading this: Tango is more than a hobby. It gets into your life and changes not just your life, your wardrobe, shoes how you spend your free time but also the fabric of your life, in many ways it puts a new person where the old you used to be. It changed me years ago; there was a time when everything I did was about a profit. Now here I sit writing this on Thursday, October 9th, 2008 putting in another full day of planning this festival – Joanne and I started making plans in July – last night I counted up my time investment so far as and I am already over 150 hours deep in the website, scheduling, venue shopping, reservation making, graphics, et cetera and the festival is still 5 months away – I estimate I will have around 1200 hours in by the time the event actually arrives – add in the hours of Joanne and our volunteers and this really is a large undertaking.

The financial returns are ridiculously low when calculated by the hour, if we were looking for monetary returns on our time and money – but truly for the first time in our lives we are investing our time and money and it has nothing to do with the profit! It feels good to be free of that burden and tango did this for us. Thank you tango!!!
Our motives for creating this festival are simple we love tango. We love to share the joys of tango. We love our tango community, its love of tango and enthusiasms along with all of its peccadillos! And we want to pay back all the time and investments others have so generously given so we could be here sharing the joys tango with you!
Before we open the gates at the Tucson Tango Festival we will have invested thousands of hours, and spent a scary amount of cash: the venue, flooring, airfare, instructors, DJs, printing, marketing, room reservations, reserving the bus for the Guerilla Milonga, a sound system, and things are still popping up daily
So we offer you a chance to be our partner in creating this tango festival. By paying early you are helping to finance the festival and in turn, we offer you a discount for displaying your support and for making this dream come true.
We appreciate your support and your presence in our life and at our festival. Let’s tango on! This festival will be an outstanding event, we promise you that much!
With Love, Respect and Gratitude,
Rusty Cline
